Overnight oats are some of the quickest and easiest breakfasts you can make. All they take is two minutes of prep the night before, and in the morning, your breakfast is ready. Oats are also one of the healthiest options for breakfast.
You can simply make your oats by using steel-cut oats.
You will need
1 cup of steel-cut oats. You can use a measuring cup, mason jar, or any other glass container you have.
Pour 2 cups of boiling water over, stir, cover, and let it stay overnight. In the morning take half for breakfast and put the rest in the fridge for tomorrow. You can warm it up in the microwave or on the stove. Or eat as it is.
To try a different option, you can add chia seeds in the evening, hemp seeds in the morning, berries of your choice, and cinnamon.
The sky is the limit
You can eat oats every morning with a different twist.
Another option is to use old fashion oats
You will need
- 1/2 cup Almond milk
- ½ cup old fashioned oats
- 2 teaspoons maple syrup
- 1 chopped apple
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Mix all the ingredients in a jar. Stir to combine and cover.
Place in the fridge overnight.
The next morning, remove and eat as it is, or place in a pot over medium-high heat to reheat the oatmeal, or in the microwave to reheat it for 45 seconds. Top with fresh apples and more cinnamon if desired.
You can double or triple ingredients, so you will have breakfast covered for a few days.
